If only things could tell tales
May. 17th, 2006 12:53 pmWent on a wild shopping spreee with my mother... in the second-hand stuff shop. Got some clothes, jeans to turn into shorts, etc. And almost bought a really old sea-chest. It was sailed with by a Charles Korland (Kortland? I should have written it down) of Kerkstraat 86 in Amsterdam. And it was beautifully well-used and battered. It looked like it would have had some tales to tell. I would have brought it home to keep the other sea-chest company, the one we have of my grandfather, who took it to Indonesia way back when. It I had the space even vaguely, I would have bought it...
When I grow up I want to start a museum for old travel goods.
