My condition isn't bad, but...

It's one of those activities that hit their high point when they're over. Probably like marathon running and the really long distances in endurance. (Quoth a one-time Dutch national champion about the 160 km ride: "The best part is when you can get off the horse after the finish line.")
Still, this is how real improvement works... overburden the system and it will adapt. So even though I couldn't wait for it to be over, I'll probably go again, when I'm in a self-flagellating mood.
