Missing things

Yesterday was the last day of work (and glad of it! Even though the money was good..) and I went to Leiden straight afterward for a pre-con meet. Thought I was well late but managed to get there in time to join the rest for dinner in La Bota. They do an excellent grilled chicken salad (really a starter, but optionally a main course) that I must remember is always a safe bet there. Should I ever need to order while not there yet, grilled chicken salad it is.
I had planned to go home but once in the pub things got really cheerful and before I knew it getting home at a reasonable time wasn't really an option anymore. Thankfully Jeroen could offer me not only floorspace, but also a mat and a sleeping bag, so I stayed, drank some more, and then crashed. Slept for longer than I had expected to, despite snoring fellow-crasher, but then I was v. tired from work.
Got up this morning, had a cup of tea and a catwash, and then headed off to the station with the others who would take the train to Schiphol to fly to the Convention. Have fun everybody! (and remember to bring me some ginger snaps please?)
I took the train home, walked from the station to the house, showered and then napped for a while. As expected this is a slow rest day, I needed to get some things done but haven't so far. My feet still hurt, I suspect the soles might actually be bruised from all the standing.
Jeroen let me borrow his copy of Monstrous Regiment so I am reading that now.
In other news my sailing friends are having a bit of a reunion today but I, of course, lacked funds to be there. Really feels like I am missing out, I miss those people! I shall do some textmessaging later on just to feel like I've joined in a little bit. Should've sent a cardboard cutout of myself so they could include me in the photos..
I plan to ride Rowan tonight as it's cooled down a bit, lots of wind and all. Sunday is competition! I am looking forward to it...
