Tried to explain once before (unsuccesfully) about why my horse is the best anti-depression medicine ever. He's just so enthusiastic. He loves doing stuff. He thinks the entire world is a big game designed especially for his amusement. He never had any reason to be worried about things that are new or unknown, so he just thinks they're incredibly interesting. There were kitesurfers on the beach and one kite went overhead - Rowan just looks at them with his face full of wonder. I frequently imagine his voice, had he been given one, would sound like a 9-year-old boy going "Wooooooowww! This is just awsome!!" and making vroom-vroom noises.
