This just cracks me up. I have a Creative Jukebox I no longer use, so it's for sale on a non-active 'if anyone asks for it..' basis. Well some girl on a horse-forum asked for it. It's the very first model, 6 GB and now about 4 years old. So I check ebay and decide 70 euro is about right. She sent me the initial message after seeing an old mention of the thing and its for-sale status, which also included '6 GB'.

Me:

It goes for 70 euro complete with cables, software and carry-bag thingy.

Her:
sorry but I'm CERTAINLY not doing that. I can buy a NEW one for 89 euro and that one is much smaller and very good. BYYEEEEE!

Me (after realising I'm actually dealing with a 15-year old):
...and can that one contain 150 cds worth of music? I would check out what 6 GB memory means before writing such snippy replies. We all want to be first-class for a penny, don't we?

Anyway, I don't want to do business with someone like you and I have another buyer already. Good luck with finding a 6GB MP3player for 90 euro.

Her:
There is 6 MB and about 200 minutes on then. It's really a cool beautiful little thing..!!

Just shut up! Stupid bitch! (that doesn't work in translation, so here for the cloggies: UITGELULT!!STOM WIJF)

Me:
This is the funniest PM conversation I have had in ages. I'm going to translate it and put it on my site so my friends can laugh about it too.

6 GB is something different from 256 MB. 1000 MBs fit into one GB. Shall we calculate? 6 GB is 6000 MB divided by - well I'll round off upward - 260 MB is ~ 23.07.

That means my player has at least 23 times as much memory, and can contain at least 23 times more music.

6 GB is 100 HOURS of music. And you compare my player, which can contain 100 hours of music, with a gadget where you can put 3,5 hours of music on at best?

Fine by me, you obviously really want that Nikkei STYXX 256 MB very much. Have fun with it. But don't start swearing at me over something you obviously don't understand anything of!

[EDIT:]

Her:
o, because you're older and bigger you automatically know a lot more?? I said that picture that's what it looks like. That doesn't mean it is that one. Read better!!

Me:
[name], such small MP3players with 6 GB memory DO NOT EXIST. They are technically impossible. The small MP3players work with memory-sticks and those don't affordably come larger than 512. (and at 512 we're talking about 200 euro)

Everything with more memory has a harddisc and is therefore larger and more expensive. In comparison the closest you can get to what I have is the Apple Ipod Mini (4 GB), and that's 270 with Dixons. A very nice gadget by the way, but we're no longer talking about 90 euro then.

It seems to me that we're done talking.

Cheers,
Arwen
