Okay, it might not make that much sense if you didn't read The Tale of Westala and Villtin *and* are either Marco or me... but it amused me, and at 110 words it's kind of a drabble...

Newra stood at the window, a blanket wrapped around her shoulders. Nothing but pale grey outside, the cabin window closed off with snow.

"Well, this could be a problem" she remarked.

Westala prodded the sleeping Villtin.
"Wake up, we're snowed in."

"Hmmmwha?"

After some encouragement Villtin rose, threw on some clothes, and opened the door. A small pile of snow fell inward with it, leaving the opening blocked by a solid grey wall.

Once they were all packed and ready to leave Westala started to clap his hands rhythmically. Newra gave him a bemused look and broke into a grin as Villtin sang:

# I'm too sexy for this snow,
# too sexy for this snow,
# Too hot, don'tcha know...

...and the snow melted.

I remember that song...I can't imagine Marco singing it (but you never know...)but I can imagine Villtin singing it all too well!

I'm not sure I could imagine myself sing it either, but that's only because I seem to have permanently left my singing voice in my other trousers...

... Arwen, you are an eeeeevil woman and I may be forced to punish you. What are your views on massage?

In a sense, it's too bad this post was friends-only, because AFAIK Orjan and Graycat don't have LJs. May I copy it and send it to them? May we even, perhaps, put it up on the coming fanfic section of the Tale's new webhome?

I considered posting it on a.f.p. but it does seem to be mostly an injoke. If you think it works for the newsgroup I'll post it, or make this post public, or both.

I do have a few more of these little moments bouncing about, they might make it onto paper while I'm trying to avoid making my Marketing Management homework today. ;-)

Well, I'm not Marco or you, but I did think it was funny. :-)

A pretty watertight case could be made that the whole Tale is a collection of injokes strung together with something that pretends to be a plot. So that's not a valid argument. ;-)

I'd say it certainly works – they both work – for the group. In the meantime, I'm tellin' Orjan and Graycat.
