Feeling rich & important
Mar. 31st, 2004 03:22 pmI'm Dutch. Most of you know this. I have a UK bankaccount, because I lived in London for a year, and it's a right pain trying to pay from a Dutch account in London.
All seems perfectly logical so far, right?
I keep getting these letters from Lloyds TSB. It's really cool, they make me feel all important. The letters address me, as 'foreign holder of a UK account' and tell me that a Lloyds TSB manager is going to be over in the Netherlands sometime soon, and that I can have a meeting with him if I like. To discuss the way Lloyds TSB manages my finances.
That's bound to be funny, going in there all dressed up in business suit, and sitting down to discuss how they manage my 9 UKP.
The account has been essentially empty for years now, and I only ever use it when I'm over there, and then only to buy tube-tickets. It's a real pain transfering money between here and there, so I never do that. I have a creditcard for emergencies over there. My interest has been something like 0.02 UKP last year.
Still, I am foreign and I have a UK account, so I must be really rich and have this account for business purposes, right? *grin*
*goes to check*
Actually I lied, apparently I'm richer than I thought. The balance is 24.87 UKP.
Wow.
