Request

In short:
- I'm not going for the study abroad thing... too much stress. There's a program for me to follow at my own uni, so no problem.
- I've set the police record check moving that I need for volunteering with the TSYT. Since I've lived in both NL and UK in the past 10 years I expect it to take forever, which will likely make it impossible to find back-to-back voyages to do over this summer.

The request is about comedy... I'm trying to gather some comedy mp3s to listen to. I have some Billy Connolly songs but as for whole shows I could only find one called 'Live 94' (which starts about coming onto stage and he's been in one place so long it feels like groundhog day). I have a bit of I'm Sorry I haven't a Clue and some Tom Lehrer (sadly only the self biopic, I'd like to listen to the whole show). I'm sure there must be other good comedians that speak intelligibly and are fun to listen to, with or without singing. Anyone want to point me in their direction? If I do end up in the galley I'd like to take a cd-wallet full of entertaining stuff to listen to.

Mitch Benn (does the comedy music slots on "The Now Show" and also tours on his own).

If you want a bunch of comedy MP3s, e-mail me and i'll set you up an FTP account. I've got quite a bit of Billy, some other brit stuff and a lot of Eddie Izzard. Ask Hash if you don't believe me, he is hilarious.

Well... rather old, now, but I always enjoyed Bill Cosby's solo comedy routines. Many of them are about childhood (his or his kids') and he's very funny without using all the expletives that so many comedians seem to feel necessary. A couple of my favorites are Himself and Is a Very Funny Fellow - Right (the routines on Noah in this one especially).

Bill Bailey is good, I think.
I have heard some sketches and songs as MP3s, and they were funny.

One I've just discovered: Arlo Guthrie. Specifically two songs: "Alice's Restaurant Massacree" and "The Motorcycle Song".

Others I have in my list (.wma rather than .mp3): Ben Elton, Flanders & Swann, and a nice little thing of humourous takes on classical music. If that sort of thing floats your boat, try looking for PDQ Bach (particularly his Eine Kleine Nichtmusik).

The Goon Show is very good indeed, but there are some bits that don't make any sense because they were satirical at the time. If you like trad jazz as well, the Goons are well worth it.
