Stream of consciousness....
Apr. 23rd, 2004 07:07 pmI have a very kind tutor, Dorith, who always finds time to talk me out of study-related panic. There is also Mr Franzen, the Statistics teacher. An excellent example of someone who absolutely saved his subject. Comparing some of the new (period 4) teachers to him, I see the difference - Mr. Franzen works with what he has. He doesn't go "well this is where you should be and if you're not, tough luck" but he saw that I lagged behind and just helped me at my own level. For which I am eternally grateful. It would have been really easy to get depressed about the subject and give up, but he kept helping me and motivating me, and though I failed the first time and cannot resit until next year, I do feel somewhat confident that I will make the subject eventually.
General economics, this period, is something else. Because the teacher honestly doesn't seem to care if we learn or not. Especially at this stage, a teacher can make or break a subject.
I still want to go sailing this summer. I still don't have any money. Anyone know a good solution? :)
Finally have photos of Rowan on the beach. See them here
That's me with the green helmet on the bouncy pony :-D
Also, I want one of these.
Dorith stills seems to think I'm a model student who tries to hard. I think I'd have to try a lot harder to be the kind of person she seems to think I am.
