Radical decisions
Mar. 12th, 2005 02:41 pmI want to stop endurance riding.
When I read it like that it sucks. I LOVE endurance. It's one of the few sports I can actually compete in. It's lots of fun.
It also costs me... let's calculate this.
starting licence: €30 per year
Membership: €60 per year
Each competition: €25 euro.
To make it vaguely worthwhile shelling out €90 a year (that's a LOT of money for me) I need to ride at least 3 or 4 competitions a year. See the picture forming up here? It's fucking expensive.
Now that wouldn't even be so dramatic, as, as I said, it's lots of fun. However Rowan went lame. He's recovering okay, but not convincing enough to want to ride a competition, so I cancelled the one I had signed up for. I still get to pay the 25 euro though...
This year will be my last - next year I'll be abroad for the first half of the year anyway, and I don't suppose I'll have much motivation to get back to it after that. Shame, but... I really need to win the lottery for this kind of thing to stop smarting.
