So! I have something to wear. My hair doesn't go with it but what they hell. The weather looks uncertain.

...severe temporary cash crisis - I'm not even going near anything that may cost money until this month's salary is in my bank account. I'd already as good as written off the Fair, but the vet bill clinched it, especially since there's a possibility Miss'll have to go back for x-rays if the problem doesn't clear up completely.

:-( I'm having that cash problem myself, but it's such a shame to miss an opportunity to dress up... strength wished with Miss!

Yes, it is a shame, especially since it's within cycling distance (which would be a pain with dressing up, but never mind...); but while I can happily exist on water and bread for a bit, until I know what to expect on the vet bill front, it's best if I don't spend money. My over-caution may not be needed, since she's a lot better than last week, but I don't think the problem is gone yet.
