Is there anyone with experience of running mp3s of an SD card in a Palm (Tungsten T). Specifically, how long can you listen until you risk sucking dry the Palm... (which would not be fun, obvious)

Yes, I use RealPlayer (it was bundled with my T3). You donćt get long, maybe an hour or two, depending on the volume. You would be better off getting a flash MP3 player.

that short? then it's definitely not worth the bother... Someone else mentioned about 4 hours.. that would be on the edge.
I have a flash mp3 player, but it's only 128 mb and for a long train or plane journey that's a little short...

Alternative is to buy a cheap mp3/cd player to take sailing. Which means carrying about extra stuff, and I probably wouldn't use that much after I got home, which seems a waste.

4 hours? It could jsut be that my Palm is a year old...

Best bet is to get a Flash player. 128MB for about 50E, and some have SD card slots too

My Palm 1.5 years or so. I have a flash players, but it's only 128mb. The battery lasts forever but only an hour of music...

I've decided on a 2nd hand mp3 discman... think I've found one for 30 euro, and that's definitely cheaper than an SD card. Bulkier solution though... :-/

I've got 2-3 hours out of mine, but I don't use RealPlayer, even though its bundled, its rather erm... clunky. Try http://www.pocket-tunes.com/

Mines a Zire72 though, dunno if thats got a better battery.
