Still Not Dead

Hi! Been a while since I wrote anything, mostly because I've been busy sailing... partying... wishing the wind would pick up... that sort of thing. The race to Cherbourg was slow as hell; we rigged up every scrap of canvas we had - all 6 stunsails and the ringtail (stopping just short of the bedsheets) but were largely still only making about 2 knots. They changed the finish of the race because some of the smaller ships weren't moving at all.

We are docked side by side with the Shabab Oman - the ship of the Omani navy. They're great neighbours, feed us delicious curries and rice dishes and play drums and bagpipe. We have spontaneous late-night deck parties with drumming and dancing. Lots of fun.

We're in Cherbourg now. It's changeover day. Some very cool members of our crew are leaving today so we are throwing a deck cocktail party. Should be good. Thankfully a whole bunch of fun people are staying. We're Europa's Portable Party, bringing our own fun with us, and it's all good.

I'm off again, I think they want to get the party going sometime soon. Will write more in another 10 days or so.
