One of the subjects this block is E-co (e-communication, but we shorten all coursenames. Other subjects this block are POP and RepCo and ECthing)

Anyway, E-co is interesting because it hits right where a lot of my interests happen to be. "Does what you do online influence what you do offline?" "Would your life be different if the internet never existed?"

Well yeah. About 2/3rd of my friends I'd never have met without the internet. I'd never have moved to London and I certainly wouldn't be involved in Endurance riding or have discovered my love of sailing.

I also seem to be one of the geekier people in my class. I blame the geeks I hang out with ;-) Teacher wondered if any of us had a weblog, and I confessed - we then talked about privacy, internet monitoring and so on. As a result I've now taken down all the old journals on cuteandfluffy. Don't plan to stop this place though... I said in class this place was easy enough to find with some good googling, but I've just tried and it's not *quite* that simple. Still, Mr V is an inventive man, so... hi!

I'm off to First Aid class. I think we have a mummification session tonight. Always fun.

Does this mean I get my space back, or will you be repopulating it?

You want all your space back and cuteanfluffy down?

I still have some things on there I'd like to keep. I'll be stripping it some more though over the next few weeks.

isn't it a bit too late for first-aid at that stage?

Hey miss Bijker,

Isn't unpersoning yourself a bit drastic?

I know I must be partially responsible for your paranoia. I'm sorry about that, okay? But don't you sound like those dumb Americans you detest? Scared about the world around them.

I would love to know what happened with you between april 2004 and the time this blog was started. You seem changed. Hateful in some aspects even. But whatever, the person being you is you to decide.

Anyways, running away from your past is bloody impossible. Especially on the internet. Yes please, take down cuteanfluffy.co.uk, then you will even have less to say about your data. I can be pretty confident that people will be able to read your previous blog that lived there, in say.. the next 5 years, whatever you do on your website.

Do not forget that you are a lovely and unique person all by yourself.

Sail on wise,

Henk Poley <>

I don't care who you are. You don't know me, and as of now I have 0 desire to get to know you. I don't know what you're trying to accomplish by writing messages like this, but unless it is trying to make me more defensive and cautious, you're not succeeding. If you think e-stalking is the way to get me interested in talking to you, your CompSci self needs to take some people-skills classes. If you're trying to provoke a reaction, here you go:

Go. Away.

Actually..

I've thought long and hard if I should write a response. Whatever I do or don't do, it could be wrong in the long run. But here it is anyways.

Actually.. I didn't want to accomplish anything else than what's written there. Nothing more, nothing less.

Life is too short to go and try making other peoples life miserable..

Of course I will honour your request. I won't contact you (just as if I have done much of that), you won't contact me (well, duh.. but still).

I do have one question for you (which you certainly don't need to answer to me as per above): In all those six+ years of writing fanfiction and your blog, you have never thought that other people might actually.. read your stuff?

And I have a request back. Please keep my comments here. If I am really the freak you apparently think I am, then it would be wise to warn the world about me and similar people. And if it's not true, well.. then I have some explaining to do when others stumble upon these posts (so that's my problem).

btw, the stuff about the data retention I talked about. Those are Google cache ("short" lifespan) and Archive.org (they store indefinitely). I believe there others, but I can't be bothered with looking them up right now. Yes, most of these have a delete-on-owner-request policy. But whatever you do, it is easier to prove that it is you that requests a delete, when you still own the domain. Maybe you should discuss this in the class.

And yes, I didn't tell exactly what I was talking about, I know that. I just like to always give people a little room to think for themselves. My presumption of what you knew about the internet was wrong, which proves your point.

Bye,

Henk Poley
